every day i think about the utter loneliness of trying to learn about a culture that has next to no written records that has next to no written language and that has been subject to ethnic cleansing and historical erasure and is still subject to segregation and genocide in multiple countries today, but then i think about the people who work hard to keep their communities together and to provide aid to those who need it and suddenly that loneliness feels a little easier to bear

#we are all alone but we are all together #seriously though romani women are having their tubes tied by doctors without their consent in most european countires #and everyone knows and most people think that's totally okay - pro-choice people think it's okay #white kids and romani kids are segregated in schools and everyone knows and no one cares #well... they do care bc they are glad those pesky filthy roma kids won't be a bad influence on their precious little white babies #they teach them 2nd grade curriculum in 6th grade and then make up entire gov campaigns about how the roma kids can't pass their matura/gcs #the system is to the romani as the barbed wire to the birds on a roof - they get around it but not without getting hurt #anywayyyy sorry i am feeling feelings up here in this chilis tonight #romani tag #ramblings
